This course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider at work, giving you both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.


On completion of the course, the delegates will:

  • Deal with emergency situations
  • Know the limits of basic first aid
  • Familiarise themselves with First Aid regulations of 2002
  • Be aware of the duties of the employer as to First Aid.

This course will empower and equip your staff to provide effective First Aid in the office, on the road, at home and in remote locations. The course will help them to identify the main hazards, outline general health issues, as well as provide practical instruction.

On completion of the course, the delegates will:

  • have a heightened awareness of basic health and first aid and identifying some of the most common and dangerous hazards in the project areas.
  • achieve a strong level of basic skills, practice and knowledge of First Aid to enable them to deal with the first stages of medical emergencies and accidents.
  • be brought up to a competent level in Field First Aid using certified methods and procedures.

The health and safety awareness training course is an interactive exploration of key health and safety concepts, tools, techniques and management systems to raise awareness among those involved in an health and safety improvement programme.

On completion of the course, the delegates will:

  • Understand health and safety law and the need to prevent accidents
  • Identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site
  • Understand the need for risk assessments and method statements
  • Appreciate the need to perform safely and to stop and ask for advice if not sure
  • Feel obliged to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident.

The aim of this basic training course in fire awareness is to gain the skills and knowledge to identify, recognise, confine, contain and extinguish a fire.

On completion of the course, the delegates will:

  • Know the procedures to be followed in the event of fire.
  • Know how to call the fire service and liaise on site.
  • Identify which elements need to exist for fire to occur.
  • Know the three basic principles of fire extinction.
  • Identify the four classes of fire.
  • Know the principles and practice of fire risk assessment.
  • Know Basic fire and arson prevention.
  • Personal protection.
  • Know which measures are designed to prevent smoke travel and fire spread in a building.

This course covers the role of the designated fire marshal. It also gives the opportunity to learn about the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly.

This course covers the factors that cause accidents and then provides the strategies for driving defensively. The interactions actively involve the learner in the training. Lesson interactions provide the learner opportunities to apply what he or she has learned. All questions in this course are fully narrated. Narrations enhance comprehension and are welcome support for learners with reading skill deficits and when English is the learner’s second language.

On completion of the course, the delegates will:

Course Overview
A 4-hour awareness course providing non-technical personnel with a comprehensive overview of the terms and processes involved in the various branches and disciplines of the petroleum industry. Beginning with the intriguing question “A Life Without Oil?”, the course takes participants on a fascinating journey starting from “the Nature of Oil and Gas”, passing through Exploration and Drilling, Completions and Production, Refining and Transportation, before concluding with “Industry Structure and Development: The Future”.

On completion of the course, the competencies shall include, but not be limited to, the trainee being able to:

  • Understand the principles of 2D and 3D seismic exploration
  • Differences between exploratory drilling versus development and production drilling
  • Oil and Gas Field development and production
  • Transportation (pipeline, vessel, train)
  • Refining and Marketing including trading
  • Oil and Gas applications in modern society
  • Environment and Sustainability in the Oil and Gas Industry

Course Competency Assessment
At the completion of the course, delegates will be required to undertake both a classroom and practical assessment, created against the competencies.

This introductory safety training programme is designed to introduce and re-enforce the key safety elements of working in the oil & gas industry. The course content covers the potential hazards and controls that might be encountered by personnel. Each unit has been designed to focus the delegate’s attention on their personal responsibility for safety thus influencing their behaviour and attitude towards their co-workers, the installation and the environment. Each module benefits from interactive tutoring ensuring candidates will gain an awareness of the variety of tasks and the safety risks to be found on offshore installations.

On completion of the course, the delegates will know the core principles of oilfield safety covering nine basic safety elements. A view of the British and relevant international standards looking at nine modules complete with assessments ensuring understanding of:

  • The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • The Health & Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974 (ALARP concept)
  • Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)

The Environmental Protection Awareness Course is designed to show organisations the benefits of good environmental management and demonstrate the process of how workers can take steps to have a positive effect on the environment.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Identify the factors associated with the risks to the environment
  • Identify key legislation to help protect the environment
  • Identify the core elements of an environmental management system
  • Implement practical steps to protect the environment
